Lijiang and Tiger Leaping Gorge Hike Our experience with UnknownChina was great, and having Si as our personal guide made it even better. Any small problem or concern was immediately addressed and corrected. As far as Lijiang it self, it was a fantastic city and the itinerary was well thought out.

You did a fantastic job and did all you could at all times to accommodate our requests. We were all very impressed with the selection of restaurants and the food was at all times excellent. The pace of the week was just right, with some time in the hotel for free time. Our school would highly recommend UnknownChina to other schools interested in trips like ours. Thank you again for making our trip to Xian such a success!

Summer Vacation in Guizhou The three of us in the family truly enjoyed Guizhou. It is a traveler's dream location, very authentic, out of the way, yet so beautiful. We feel lucky that we have excellent guides, especially Mr. Liu Yabin who speaks English to my husband Edmund. It is much appreciated since he only understands the CantoneseToisan dialect other than English. We had so much fun in our outings; we were able to relax and enjoyed the natural beauty all around us in relative isolation. We feel so special because some of the Old Han, Miao villages are so inaccessible. Our van is just perfect to accommodate our family, and, with an excellent driver (Mr. Lee), we were able to drive around to several villages, towns, and the capital Guiyang with ease and comfort. We love the water wheels, and water buffaloes that sat in the water holes next to the rice patties, the corns growing on the terraces of the hills everywhere in Guizhou. Such scenic beauty and hospitable farmers in the Miao villages, who invited us to visit their homes and chat with us about life. We love our conversations, of their livelihood, their work, the converted motor bike mini truck for transport, etc. Their generous and friendly spirits will always stay with us for a long long time. No matter where we were, we could always count on good stir-fry in restaurants, small eating places, and even in the courtyard of a peasant's farm house. In fact, that was the most delicious lunch we had in Guizhou. The chicken soup, corn with pine nuts, and eggplants with peppers and tomatoes, so delicious.....Now, I come to like the spicy food in Guizhou, which certainly gives a unique flavor like no other food on earth. We would love to have more time to see more of Guizhou, the famous caves, and waterfalls, and some of the historical routes of the Long March, etc. Well, may be next time. I personally would like to thank you for arranging such a wonderful trip for our family. Your guides, and driver did such a good job to look after our needs, and so knowledgeable about local culture, folklores, and geographic/ historical significance of each town, and places we have visited. We felt safe and had the freedom to explore, and learn along the way. It is truly one of the best trips we ever had. And we had traveled to a few places around the world.

The Silk Road Trip "You do know, I hope, that our Silk Road Adventure was everything Max and I both had ever dreamed about or hoped for. Our group traveled together so nicely and you anticipated the needs of everyone. My best memories are of riding the camels and drinking yak butter tea with that precious young lama. Thanks for making it happen."

Guizhou Luna New Year Trip "The trip was great, we have discovered a very remote part of China with ancestral customs and we have had the feeling to be in a different time zone. "A big part of that success relied on Si and Zhou Ge that have an outstanding knowledge of the area and have a great sense of service."
- Marc Gigon, January 2004

- Maheshbhai, October 2004 Lusheng Festival Best trip I have ever been on through a travel agency. Everything was anticipated and planned for. This trip was fantastic, a precious gift. I saw and interacted with China and Chinese people in a way I never expected but always wanted. I will tell all my friends and associates this is the best time I have had in 10 months in China. Guizhou was so beautiful and I had such a good time I have asked my sponsoring agency to find me a job in Guiyang. The overnight stay in the village of WuLiu was the highlight, but the whole trip was fantastic. Liu and Mr. Li did everything to make the trip easy, interesting, and fun. Mr. Peng and Liang, the local guides, were so friendly and polite. All of these young men treated me with the same polite respect and consideration I get from my son. Keep them all on your staff and pay them well. I am 56 and I have arthritis in my knees, as well as an old skiing injury. Walking and climbing can be slow and difficult. Every single person I encountered on this trip acted as if it was no big deal, even though I know it caused them extra work and worry. I never thought I would be able to hike in the wilderness or climb a mountain again, but Liu and the local guides made it possible, then acted as if it was their privilege to do so. I have no words to tell you how grateful I am for this experience ¨C UnknownChina has given me a precious gift!
